Awards are a measure of a design professional’s leadership, creative and problem-solving abilities, and his standing in direct comparison with his fellow practitioners.  Beginning in 1965, David Weiser has been honoured with design awards from NASA/Manned Spacecraft Centre (Houston, Texas), the Surrey Advisory Design Panel, the Interior Design Institute of B.C., the Ceramic Tile Contractors Association of B.C., and twice by the Canadian Wood Council (1986, residential; 1993, institutional).  One of our projects was selected as a finalist in the Governor-General’s Awards for Architecture; and David Weiser was named Citizen of the Year in 1986 by the West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce for efforts in bringing about Horseshoe Bay’s Downtown Revitalization.  Special Recognition for Service to the Profession was awarded by the Council of the Architectural Institute of B.C. in 1991, followed by election to Lifetime Membership in 2008.

Our work has been featured in over fifty publications over the past several years.  These include, but are not limited to, Fine Homebuilding, Western Living,  House Beautiful, The Canadian Architect, Homemakers’, B.C. Business, Canadian Interiors, Select Homes, Homebuilders’ Guide of British Columbia, Glass Canada, Wood/Le Bois, Skyword, and Renovation West, as well as periodicals such the Vancouver Sun, Ottawa Citizen, North Shore News, AIBC Forum and RAIC Update.  None of these represent paid advertisement of any kind; all of the articles were initiated by the publications themselves in the interest of a particular project’s architectural content.
